Officials in Bucks County acting on a tip Thursday found 51-year-old Lee Kaplan at his Feasterville home, along with 12 girls ranging in age from six months to 18 years. One girl, now 18, told police that she and Kaplan have a 3-year-old and a six-month-old.When police entered the home Thursday, "all the children were running around," Krimmel said. They were well-behaved, but scared." Authorities allege in an affidavit that the girl's father, Daniel Stoltzfus, told an officer he gave his 14-year-old daughter to Kaplan after researching the legality of such an action online.
On Saturday, police and dogs scoured the home's backyard for evidence. Ted Krimmel of the Lower Southampton police department said authorities waited until dawn so they would be able to search the property in daylight. At least nine of the children were taken to a "safe house" in Lancaster by county Children and Youth Services officials.Hoopes said he was not sure if the 18-year-old and her two children were with them.As each of them, all wearing baggy homemade flowered dresses, with wan faces and long hair, testified about being taken to Kaplan’s room at prepubescent ages for sexual acts, Kaplan remained quiet, often twisting his beard with his left hand and occasionally twitching his shoulders, neck, and head. His gray hair and beard, though cut shorter, were prominent above his black suit and blue tie.
